I want to give this baby girl the world.
But until I figure out exactly how to do that, an awesome 1st birthday party will have to do:) I haven’t really gone all out for a 1st birthday party before, but the conditions were prime for this one. Kate and Cole were both turning 1 over Memorial Day Weekend, so Kristen and I thought a joint carnival party at Mom and Dad’s house would be fun. Kristen and I spent hours talking on the phone, browsing Amazon, ordering things, planning games, etc. I’m not sure I could have done it all alone. But it was so fun to do and we were happy with how it all turned out!
The big one year olds!! Can’t believe how fast this year went by. Seems like they were just newborns!
Jeff manned the BBQ for us. Thanks Jeff! We had hotdogs, nachos, and fruit skewers for lunch.
Cupcake time for these cute cousin twins! I love how they would go for each other’s cupcakes.
Every good carnival needs a bounce house! So we rented one for the party. A definite hit with all the kids!
We also joked about renting a dunk tank – and sticking my dad in it! haha. But decided to just go with the “throw the ball through the ring and grandpa will jump in the pool in his clothes” game.
Candy Walk! Walk around the numbers while the music plays, and when the music stops you stop on a number, and if the person in the middle calls out your number you get to pick a prize out of the Vendor Box!
And of course swimming just all afternoon.
Cute little Jane just 4 months old.
Baby Michael just turned one 3 weeks ago!
A few more bounce house pictures:
And a little face painting to end the day.
The party was a smashing success! What a fun day. So glad we could spend it with family and celebrate our sweet little one year olds. It will be so fun to watch these two grow up. I hope they will always be best buds!
