New Lens
I've been testing out a new portrait lens I got the other day, a Nikon 35mm f/1.8 . . . sort of a Fathers Day present. Here are some of my favorites that I took of the girls in our backyard. They're getting used to being the subjects for my picture-taking practice, and though Leah is a little less inclined than Annie to smile for the camera, I think these shots capture some of their personalities nicely.
Our neighbors moved away a while ago and their backyard grass has been left unattended. It's kind of an eye sore, but it makes for a nice photo backdrop.

Dan, love the new lens! Great job wiht these pictures.
It is better than mine and Dan is wayyyy better than me at using it, but it is the 1.8 that does what you are loving. Not to mention the gorgeous girls! So fun Dan and Sarah!
dan, you are amazing! those pics are too cute.
Sweet pictures, Dan. I want that lens now... and bunch of adorable children to take pictures of. However, showing up at the local park and taking pictures of random children is frowned upon, so I'll hold off I guess.
Annie and Leah look so cute!!
