Maui–Parasailing

IMG_8200-33

Dan and I went parasailing in Maui 9 years ago.  It was so much fun, and we were excited to take Annie with us this time!  She loved it!  We were so proud of how brave she was!

I’m so glad the UFO company could get all 11 of us on one boat.  It was so fun going all together!

Toward the end of each ride, the UFO guys lower you down to the ocean to dunk you in the water.  And man, these guys really dunked and then dragged us in the water!  It was hilarious to watch.

For Annie’s sake, we told the guys not to dunk us, so they just lowered us so we could dip our toes in.  Annie wouldn’t even do that.  She just stuck her legs straight out in front of her to avoid the water all together.

Maui–The 4th of July

It was so fun spending the 4th in Hawaii!  The kids were anxious to try out the waterslide at our Westin Villas, so we spent the morning swimming and hanging out by the pools.  DSC_7912-1DSC_7915-3DSC_7923-7DSC_7928-9  DSC_7930-10DSC_7934-13  DSC_7938-15DSC_7939-16DSC_7941-17DSC_7942-18DSC_7943-19DSC_7955-28  DSC_7959-29

We headed to Lahaina for dinner and to spend the evening shopping in all the fun shops and, of course, to watch the fireworks!  We ate at Cheeseburger Paradise.DSC_7966-32

Quite the line to get in!DSC_7970-34

These 3 girls just love being together!DSC_7979-36

While we waited for our food we had fun pretending to eat their big plastic hamburger.DSC_7986-39DSC_7991-41

Jacob was so excited to take a bite!  Poor guy.  And then Kristen felt bad she let him put his mouth on it:)DSC_7995-45  DSC_7996-46DSC_7998-48  DSC_7999-49

I put it in front of James and he looked at me like, “Really?”DSC_8001-50

And then he dug in!DSC_8006-54

And then the real things came out!  Michael claimed it was the best cheeseburger he’s ever had in his life.DSC_8012-57DSC_8015-58DSC_8017-60DSC_8021-62DSC_8028-63

They blocked off the main road through Lahaina to cars, so it was a fun party like atmosphere.DSC_8032-67DSC_8037-70DSC_8058-71DSC_8066-73DSC_8078-77DSC_8090-79

After the fireworks, we headed straight for this place:DSC_8104-84

There were shave ice places all over, but we had heard that this place was THE BEST.  Looks like everyone else had heard that too!  Their “world famous” shave ice is top rated on tripadvisor and yelp and has won all kinds of awards.  We were excited to try it out!  DSC_8095-81DSC_8099-83

WOW.  It was SO GOOD!!!  Definitely worth the wait.  I have never had shave ice like this before in my life.  We were all going crazy over it!  It was so soft and the flavors were so delicious and they poured some kind of coconut milk over top of the whole thing that gave it this silky smooth texture and taste that was to die for!  I know I’m talking it up a lot, but it really was that good.  Definitely a must do if you’re ever in Maui!DSC_8118-88DSC_8112-86

It was a great 4th of July!!!
