Cinco de Mayo Fiesta!

Cinco de Mayo fell on a Saturday this year, and I just couldn’t pass up this perfect opportunity to throw a party, I mean Fiesta!  I decided to do Cafe Rio for dinner, and had everyone bring a part of it.  This is why I LOVE having a big kitchen island . . . . DSC_4194-3

Mmmmm . . . . so good!!DSC_4351-156

Silly kids!DSC_4196-5

The donkey, watching the kids eat, completely unaware of what will happen to him later:)DSC_4202-10

When we realized we were going to have well over 30 kids at our house, we knew we had to up the outdoor entertainment somehow . . . . so we rented this thing for the evening!  It was awesome and the kids all LOVED it.  It definitely served its purpose well . . . . keeping the kids mainly OUTSIDE:)DSC_4242-47

Seriously, looking at these pictures, I’m just amazed and extremely grateful that no one got hurt!DSC_4217-22DSC_4222-27DSC_4212-20DSC_4233-38DSC_4226-31DSC_4228-33DSC_4230-35DSC_4231-36DSC_4238-43DSC_4239-44

The adults just relaxed, ate, and had fun chatting inside!  Completely oblivious to the craziness outside:)DSC_4244-49

This picture shows how we rigged it . . . . out our master bathroom window!  Mark Bowers manned the rope the entire time.  Thanks Mark!  I’m pretty sure he got a serious arm workout . . . . that thing was heavy!DSC_4276-81

Annie’s finally up!DSC_4294-99

Check out the air Abigail got on this hit!DSC_4304-109

And Carsen . . . . he’s not messing around!DSC_4312-117

I finally started blind folding the older kids.  I knew the piñata wouldn’t last too much longer!DSC_4314-119DSC_4316-121

And I was right!  Ally gave it a good smack, and the body went flying!  And then the mass rush in began:)DSC_4317-122DSC_4318-123DSC_4320-125

The candy was still all in the donkey body . . . . so good thing Scott Talbot was there to shake it all out! DSC_4322-127DSC_4326-131

Look at all those heads!DSC_4331-136DSC_4337-142DSC_4334-139

We ended the night with root beer floats and churros (brought by the Bellows) for dessert!DSC_4348-153

Easter Morning!

It was fun being at my parents’ house for Easter this year!  Lots of new places for the Easter bunny to hide their baskets:)  Annie found her basket first in the dining room.DSC_2852-187

Next, Leah found hers in the laundry room cabinets.DSC_2854-189

James was upset he hadn’t found his yet!DSC_2855-190

So Annie, being the sweetheart she is, went around with James and helped him look for his basket.  They finally found it in the hall closet and he was so excited.DSC_2856-191DSC_2861-196DSC_2860-195DSC_2868-203

Silly boy!DSC_2880-214

The kids all got these cute Usborne books, and Grandma Walton made the girls adorable new outfits for their American Girl dolls!

Family Easter Pictures:DSC_2953-242

My sister, Stephanie, made these adorable Easter dresses for the girls!  We went to a really cute fabric store in Los Gatos one day and came out with these 2 patterns.  Then last Wednesday, I took the kids to Steph’s house to sleep over and her and I whipped them out in one night.  Well, she whipped them out.  I sat there and watched and chatted and ironed fabric for her and anything else she ordered me to do:)  Aren’t they so cute??  She’s amazing.  And she doesn’t even use patterns.  She literally just whips them out.
