The kids got to dress up 4 different nights this year.  First the Halloween party at the high school where the kids go around playing games and getting candy from all the high school kids.  Everyone loves it.  Then the same kind of thing at our elementary school.  Then our ward Trunk-or-Treat party (which was also a dance party this year!) and finally, Halloween night itself.  Which by the time Halloween actually arrived, we were already sick of candy!  Well, I was.  I was already sick of candy wrappers all over the house.  We never even bought any candy this year because we always just gave out what we had gotten at the previous event . . . . and somehow we still ended up with loads of candy!  Halloween night was fun.  We had the Lees, Jenkins, and Bowers over for soup, and then we all went trick-or-treating in our neighborhood.  Our first and only time going around in this neighborhood actually.  I’m glad we did it at least once before we moved!

Utah Trip–Provo with the Brintons

On Tuesday (after meeting up for lunch with Eldon and Robyn Kearl) we headed down to spend a few days in Provo with the Brintons.  We stayed with Bryan and Andi and had so much fun with them!!  Tuesday we went to Hee Haw Farms in Pleasant Grove, went on some pony rides and other fun farm activities.  That night we got a babysitter for all the kids (except Kate) and went out to dinner at Toucano’s.  It was so fun to go out to dinner with just Bryan and Andi.  Great food and great conversation.  Then on Wednesday we loaded up the motorhome, aka The Seven Peaks Fun Bus, and the trailer filled with toys, and drove an hour and a half south to the Little Sahara recreation area.  It was the perfect place to ride 4 wheelers around.  I’m pretty sure Dan was in heaven!

James loved it too.  He loved going on rides with daddy and just giggled the entire time.  DSC_2085-31

Leah was also loving it!  She kept wanting to “go crazy!”  DSC_2027-1

This little Tyler is a crack up.  If Bryan is around, he only wants Bryan.  He just wanted to be on Bryan’s lap the whole time, driving around town!  We went straight to Olive Garden for dinner to celebrate Robert’s birthday with the rest of the Brintons.  Then over to Rob and Tawni’s house for some cake!  DSC_2131-47

James had so much fun sleeping in Drew’s room with him.  These boys are only a few weeks apart and great little friends.  Wouldn’t they be the cutest twins?DSC_2139-48

Thursday we really packed it in.  Loaded up at the BYU bookstore, lunch at CafĂ© Rio, I went shopping at University Mall and a couple furniture stores with Andi, Kim, and Tawni, and Dan and Bryan took the kids up the canyon to Bridal Veil Falls and Squaw Peak.   DSC_2163-8

We had such a great time in Provo!  Thanks Bryan and Andi for letting us stay at your place and for taking time out of your busy lives to play with us for a few days!  You guys are awesome!

Well, we don’t have many more pictures of the rest of our Utah trip, so I’ll just sum up the rest real quick.  Thursday night we drove back up to Scott and Elisha’s house in Kaysville.  Friday Scott had off work, so we all went to Get Air, a big trampoline arena type place.  The kids (and adults) loved it, and our hour went by much too quickly.  Elisha and I did some shopping, the boys took the kids to the park, and then that night we rented “The Great Gatsby.”  Saturday we took some family pictures (to be posted later), watched a really exciting BYU football game on TV, then went to Salt Lake for dinner with Scott and Elisha, and Chris and Amy.  We went to Brio for an early birthday celebration for Dan’s birthday.  It was really good.  Then we grabbed some cheesecake from The Cheesecake Factory for dessert.  A great night, and a great way to end our trip to Utah!  Thanks also to Scott and Elisha for everything . . . . hopefully you didn’t get sick of us!

Utah Trip–This is the Place Monument and Heritage Park

DSC_1941-76

After a relaxing Sunday of church, dinner, and games at Scott and Elisha’s, we decided to venture out again on Monday for a fun filled day!  We had never been to This is the Place Monument, so we headed up there to check it out.  It was so neat!

It was fun discovering This is the Place Heritage Park.  I never even knew this was here.  We visited the historic homes, went on a train ride, and walked around the little village.  Fun place!
